Commercial Precision Grading

Shape your commercial site to the project plans. Redline reviews grades, soil movement and access needs before work starts. We coordinate grading with drainage work and the next construction phase.

Grading beside an existing building

Grades that connect the whole project

Grades connect building pads, roads, parking areas and drainage paths. A surface that looks level may still be at the wrong height or slope. Share the plans, survey points and required tolerances so we can work to the design.

Confirm who handles layout, soil testing, drainage pipes, paving and concrete. These tasks may sit with different trades. The estimate should make each responsibility clear.

Where commercial grading fits

Commercial grading can prepare a building area, shape an access route or tie an addition into the existing ground. Cut and fill work moves soil from high areas to low areas within the agreed plan.

If a business stays open during the work, tell us which routes must stay clear. Temporary access may be needed before final grading can begin.

Plan information and coordination

  1. Send the current grading plans, work limits and project location.
  2. Share soil information, existing levels and access restrictions.
  3. Confirm who supplies survey points, layout and testing.
  4. Plan the work around drainage installation and other trades.
  5. Check the finished grades before the next trade covers or disturbs the area.

If levels conflict or a detail is unclear, the project designer needs to resolve it before the affected work proceeds.

Estimate and schedule factors

Cost depends on how much soil must move, the type of material, haul distance and access. Wet ground, steep slopes and limited storage space can also affect the work. Include any fill and testing requirements with your plans.

Clearing, demolition or utility work may need to happen first. Later trenches and heavy deliveries can disturb a graded area. Agree when rough grading and final grading are needed.

Precision grading questions

How does commercial grading differ from residential work?

Both need sound levels and drainage. Commercial work often involves more trades, detailed plans, testing and phased access.

Are drainage structures included?

Only if they are in the written scope. Surface grading and the installation of pipes or inlets are separate tasks that must work together.

Can excavated soil be reused?

It depends on the soil, its planned use and the project specifications. Testing or approval may be needed before it is used as fill.

What do you need for an estimate?

Send the plans, work limits, soil information and schedule. State who will provide survey layout and testing.

Will grading prevent all settlement?

No. Soil, fill, drainage, loading and later work all affect the finished site. The plans and agreed testing should address these factors.

Discuss your commercial project

Send the project location, current plans, requested scope, site-access information and target sequence. Identify the work you want priced and any responsibilities assigned to other parties.
